Salaried employment in Luxembourg saw modest growth in the final quarter of 2024, rising by 0.3% amid mixed performance across key sectors, new STATEC data shows.
Salaried employment in Luxembourg rose by 0.3% in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to the previous quarter, according to data released on Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC).
Over the full year, salaried employment in the Grand Duchy grew by 1%. As of 31 December 2024, Luxembourg counted 487,109 salaried employees, comprising 258,000 residents and 229,000 cross-border workers. The majority of the latter – 125,000 – travel daily from France.
The workforce remains predominantly male, with 283,000 salaried jobs held by men compared to 204,000 held by women.

While industry (-0.1%), construction (-0.7%), and information and communication (-0.7%) saw slight declines in employment during the fourth quarter, specialised and support services (+0.8%) and administration and other public services (+1.1%) posted the strongest growth compared to the previous quarter.
