Starting in May, SOS Détresse will expand its English-language helpline service to include Sundays, offering emotional support every Wednesday, Saturday, and now Sunday from 11am to 11pm. The move follows a noticeable increase in calls during existing English service hours, indicating strong demand for support in English.
The decision aims to provide better access for English speakers in Luxembourg, particularly those who may be more available to talk during weekends due to work commitments. By adding Sunday coverage, the helpline ensures that English-speaking residents can now reach out for support on both weekend days as well as midweek.
SOS Détresse initially launched its English helpline in 2022, supplementing its long-standing telephone support services in Luxembourgish, German, and French. These services are available daily from 11am to 11pm, with extended weekend hours until 3am.
