Luxembourg's government spent €126 million acquiring 208 off-plan properties in 2024, Housing Minister Claude Meisch revealed on Tuesday.
In response to a parliamentary question from Pirate Party MP Marc Goergen, Minister for Housing Claude Meisch disclosed that Luxembourg purchased 208 off-plan properties (VEFA) in 2024 for approximately €126 million.
This initiative, launched two years ago to stimulate the real estate market and increase affordable housing stock, involves acquiring private developments still under construction.
Minister Meisch outlined the completion schedule, with the first 25 units ready for occupancy in the coming weeks. An additional 23 homes are expected by the second quarter of 2025, followed by 76 units in 2026. Another tranche of 84 properties is scheduled for delivery in early 2027.
