Luxembourg has provided €96.2 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine over the past three years, Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel told parliament, highlighting wide-ranging support from reconstruction to military cooperation under a 2024 bilateral agreement.

In response to a parliamentary question by MP Sven Clement of the Pirate Party, Foreign Affairs Minister Xavier Bettel stated that Luxembourg's support for Ukraine has spanned "all levels", contributing a total of €96.2 million in humanitarian aid over a three-year time span. Bettel further reminded the opposition lawmaker that Ukraine and Luxembourg had signed a bilateral security agreement in 2024, covering both military and humanitarian support, including satellite and information technology.

According to Bettel, Luxembourg's contributions have been financed through partnerships with the United Nations, the Red Cross, and other NGOs. They particularly focused on reconstruction projects, mine clearance, provision of medical supplies, but also logistical support through generators and fire-fighting communication equipment. Bettel elaborated that reconstruction efforts mainly focus on education and energy infrastructure, as well as support for businesses in the Kryvyi Rih district.

According to the minister, Luxembourg has also supported every sanction package at the EU-level and contributes to the Ukraine Facility instrument of the EU.
