
The POST Group faced widespread service outages on Wednesday after a fire in the Gare neighbourhood caused an electrical issue that disrupted access to its website, email platforms, and online banking services.
On Wednesday morning, the POST Group encountered significant technical difficulties, resulting in the inaccessibility of its website and other services.
The company confirmed that an "electrical incident" caused disruptions across multiple systems. Customers reported widespread issues, including the inability to access POST's website, Post.lu, as well as email accounts using POST-provided addresses (@pt.lu). Additionally, Eboo, POST's online banking service, was rendered unavailable. Clients also experienced difficulties reaching the company's helpdesk for assistance.
Energy provider Creos later confirmed that there had been a power outage in the Gare neighbourhood in Luxembourg City. According to Creos, several wires were damaged in a duct fire. The energy provider assured that its teams would start repair works "as soon as possible."
Red lights in the area Gare/Hollerich/Gasperich were reportedly also affected by the outage on Wednesday afternoon.
As of Wednesday early evening, certain services including POST's website started to become available again, but no official word regarding the full restoration of services has been released.
