The water levels of the Moselle River have begun to drop in Luxembourg this Saturday, prompting a reduction in the alert level from orange to yellow, according to the Water Management Administration.

At the peak, the water level at the Stadtbredimus gauge reached 611cm (Remich: 514cm), but the levels are expected to remain steady until Saturday evening, before significantly dropping on Sunday, when the alert is set to be dropped completely at 8am.

Despite the decline, the risk of flooding has not been completely ruled out, and authorities continue to advise caution. The "yellow alert" level, set at 530cm for the Stadtbredimus gauge (Remich: 452cm), is expected to fall below the threshold by Sunday morning.

The Water Management Administration urges residents to remain vigilant as the situation continues to evolve.
