
Former director of Mudam Marie-Claude Beaud who played a key role in the Mudam's opening and development, has passed away at the age of 78 in Toulon.
Marie-Claude Beaud, former director of Mudam, has passed away at the age of 78 in Toulon, as reported by RTL. Surrounded by family, she died peacefully.
Appointed director of Mudam in January 2000 by the Fondation Musée d'Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, Beaud played a pivotal role in the museum's opening in July 2006, leveraging her extensive network and commitment. She led Mudam until late 2008 before taking on the directorship of the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco in April 2009, a role she held until 2021.

In recognition of her significant contributions to the arts, Marie-Claude Beaud was awarded the Commander’s Cross of the Order of the Oak Crown in January 2012.
