From wrong-way drivers to inebriated motorists, Luxembourg's police faced a string of road violations during the festive season.

In recent days, Luxembourg police have once again been busy responding to a series of road incidents.

The first case unfolded on Christmas Eve. Police were alerted to a motorist making "dangerous manoeuvres" between Bollendorf and Diekirch. The vehicle was later found "parked askew" in Vianden, but officers had to track the driver to their home. The individual was uncooperative, aggressive, and repeatedly denied having driven the car. They also refused to take an alcohol test. Investigations revealed that the driver's licence had previously been revoked due to a DUI offence. Following this discovery, the public prosecutor's office was informed, and the vehicle was seized.

On Christmas Day, another vehicle was seized after a motorist was caught zigzagging on the A1 motorway. Police stopped the car in Kirchberg, where it was determined that the driver was already under an administrative driving ban.

In the early hours of 26 December, a driver was caught speeding at 150 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on the A13. The motorist, who was found to be intoxicated, was stopped in Sanem.

Shortly afterward, at approximately 3.30am, police received reports of a wrong-way driver travelling at high speed on the A4 near the Foetz exit. The vehicle was eventually stopped at the Rumelange roundabout, where the driver tested positive for alcohol.
