A new collective agreement signed by the LCGB and OGBL unions promises significant benefits for the 680 employees of Delhaize in Luxembourg.

Announced on Monday, 25 November, the three-year agreement will take effect from 1 November 2024. The unions hailed it as "one of the best collective agreements in the retail sector," describing it as a clear recognition of employees’ dedication.

The agreement introduces and enhances a range of employee bonuses, including:

  • Improved end-of-year bonus: increased by up to 115%;
  • Additional leave: one extra day of leave for employees aged 57 or with 30 years of continuous service;
  • Extended salary scale: continuity of pay scale progression up to 30 years of seniority;
  • Signing bonus: €100 in vouchers added to employees’ purchasing cards upon signing;
  • Family expenses bonus: €25 gross per month for employees earning €2,650 or less;
  • Back-to-school bonus: €30 for one child and €60 for two children in school;
  • Compensatory bonus: €10 gross for each guaranteed “non-EU” free day;
  • Function bonuses: revaluation of bonuses for Team Leaders, Assistants, Experts, and their replacements;
  • Friday evening work supplement: a 30% hourly rate increase for hours worked between 8-9pm on Fridays;
  • Extended hours bonus: introduced for employees with flexible extended working hours;
  • Increased staff discounts: on purchases made by employees;
  • Teleworking provisions: formal introduction of teleworking arrangements.
