Rooms with direct access to the terminal building and a unique view onto the airport are only a few benefits of the Moxy Luxembourg Airport, inaugurated on Thursday evening.

It is a pioneering event: as the name indicates, the ecologically-built hotel is situated right next to Luxembourg Airport. One of the biggest wood-based hotels in the world, it is part of the international Marriott group, which holds over thirty hotel brands worldwide.

The hotel is connected to the airport terminal via a covered passageway, which means that the airport is really just a walk away. The inauguration of the new Moxy hotel on Thursday evening also marks the opening of the first business in the new Skypark Business Center at Findel. The Skypark is meant to become a large business centre, with offices and restaurants soon to join.

The Moxy Hotel has a total of 130 rooms, which impressed the minister of Mobility and Public Service Yuriko Backes, attending the inauguration on Thursday:

“It really is a premiere. It’s a magnificent hotel. It is also built ecologically, out of wood. I don’t think there are many places in the world with such beautiful and welcoming rooms, with an immediate view of the airport. I think it is a hotel where you would really like to spend the night. Or even more, which is not the usual case for a hotel next to an airport.”

The CEO of Lux-Airport, Alexander Flassak, highlights that it is the first step in the Skypark Business Center project, which is an integral part of the future “Airport neighbourhood” – a project centered on major development around Luxembourg airport.

Satya Anand, Marriott's president for Europe, Middle-East and Africa, also joined the opening ceremony. He knows each and every Moxy hotel, yet he was “very enthusiastic” about the building constructed at Findel. In conversation with RTL he shared his thoughts:
