The Luxembourg police, in collaboration with Europol, are searching for 57-year-old Frenchman Philippe Stanislas Antoine Wasila, wanted for fraud and organised crime involving approximately €5.4 million.
According to authorities, Wasila is accused of defrauding investors between 2013 and 2014 by posing as a successful businessman, lawyer, and director of an investment fund.
He allegedly persuaded victims to invest in a project to develop autonomous drones, promising substantial returns. Instead of funding the project, Wasila is believed to have funnelled the money into a web of companies and foreign accounts, using the funds to support his "lavish lifestyle", as Europol writes on its website.
In a letter to Luxemburger Wort, Wasila denied the accusations, claiming the case dates back over a decade and has yet to go to trial. He also stated that he has cooperated with the authorities.
Despite his claims, Wasila has been added to Europol's list of Europe’s most wanted fugitives.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts or other relevant details is urged to contact FAST Luxembourg via email at fast.lux@police.etat.lu or submit tips through the Europol website at www.eumostwanted.eu.
