Police in Luxembourg City carried out extensive checks at multiple bars on Wednesday evening, leading to arrests, fines, and the seizure of small quantities of drugs.

On Wednesday evening, Luxembourg police carried out a comprehensive inspection at several bars in the Luxembourg City and Bonnevoie areas. The operation focused on ensuring compliance with local regulations governing bars and included identity checks for both patrons and staff.

As a result of the checks, two bar managers were fined €10,000 for illegally employing a third-country national.

Additionally, a person with an outstanding arrest warrant was apprehended and transferred to prison. Police also identified one individual in an irregular immigration situation, who was checked and processed accordingly.

During the operation, small quantities of drugs were also confiscated.

A total of 21 police officers, along with six staff members from the Inspectorate of Labour and Mines (ITM), participated in the operation.
