In a show of solidarity for open borders, around 250 demonstrators marched from France to Schengen, challenging the recent reintroduction of border checks.

Around 250 people marched from the French town of Apach to Schengen, passing through the German town of Perl, in a demonstration against border controls.

The protest was organised by the pro-European political party Volt, which argues that controls at the German and French borders undermine European solidarity.

According to Volt, these measures represent a setback for European integration. In response, the party called for demonstrations advocating for open borders.

After marching through the tri-border area, participants gathered at the Schengen Agreement Monument where speeches were delivered.
