A new platform designed to assist first-time home buyers navigate housing aids will launch next week, offering users an easy way to calculate their eligibility and project home acquisition costs.

A new platform for housing aids, called 'Aides.lu' and designed to specifically support first-time home buyers and investors, is poised to go online next week. Developed by the Real Estate Chamber, the site allows users to simulate the number and amount of aids for which they are eligible and thereby project the costs of a home acquisition.

According to Jean-Paul Scheuren, spokesperson of the Chamber's 'Developers Section', interest in real estate has been growing again, but people are said to still be cautious and unaware of new government support initiatives. For that reason, the new platform is now hoped to address existing concerns and outline all potential aids to reassure buyers, Scheuren explained.

As for investors, Scheuren noted that Luxembourgers are traditionally more aware of support mechanisms, which is why Aides.lu has been launched to reach people less familiar with the system.

Jerry Grbic, general director of the Luxembourg Bankers' Association (ABBL), has already come out to praise the Chamber's initiative: "We as banks welcome that there now is a site where all aids are grouped together, allowing a layperson to simply get an overview. I could imagine banks also resorting to this site to do their calculations."

Aides.lu is set to go online on 30 October 2024.
