The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps has come under scrutiny after a viral video surfaced showing trainees singing a crude version of a Luxembourgish marching song, prompting an internal investigation and efforts to establish a "value charter".
The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) has received some unwanted attention due to a viral video showing firefighters in training singing along to a classic Luxembourgish marching song – though with altered lyrics. The trainees, while in plank position, are thus following along to an obscene and graphic version of the song, also featuring a dig at the police force.
Upon request for comment, CGDIS director Paul Schroeder called the situation "unfortunate", stressing that parts of the song do not reflect the values of the Corps and that this is not the public image that they want to portray. Schroeder further revealed that an internal investigation is now hoped to review the incident and work out an internal "value charter". A second report is expected from the CGDIS quality management department.
