The situation at Lycée Josy Barthel in Mamer made headlines at the end of the school year, as teachers voiced concerns about general unrest, mismanagement and a toxic atmosphere at the school.

Following reports about an unsustainable atmosphere at the Lycée Josy Bathe in Mamer, the Ministry of Education has restated that it is taking these complaints seriously and is committed to improving working conditions at the school. To address the issues, the ministry plans to implement management coaching, mediation measures, and establish a complaints management committee.

Education Minister Claude Meisch highlighted that these measures aim to foster a culture of mutual understanding and listening to each other, indirectly confirming that tensions do indeed exist at the school. However, the minister indicated that a social audit would not be carried out in the initial phase.

Regarding teacher turnover, six teachers requested transfers from the school last year, and nine in total over the last three years. According to Minister Meisch, these numbers are consistent with those of other high schools in the Grand Duchy. These concerns were raised by Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP) MP Francine Closener, who is also an alderwoman on the Mamer municipal council, during a parliamentary questioning.
