While the idea might seem attractive to some, lowering the speed limit from 50 to 30 km/h across all Luxembourg municipalities is not currently on the agenda.

Although some residents support reducing the speed limit from 50 to 30 km/h in villages across the country, there will be no blanket rule. This was confirmed by the Minister for Mobility, Yuricko Backes this week-end.

Backes explained that while lowering the speed limit might be beneficial in certain villages, it may not be necessary in others. As a result, she believes that municipalities should have the authority to make these decisions, stating that "it's [their] responsibility".
