A suspect has recently been arrested for a carjacking case which occurred in Luxembourg in December 2020.
In December 2020, a woman in southern Luxembourg had her vehicle stolen by two individuals. The perpetrators forced the woman to hand over her valuables, before fleeing the scene with the car to the border region.
Several months ago, the Grand Ducal police and judicial authorities were able to identify one of the suspects, who had been imprisoned abroad due to a separate crime.
The 48-year-old man was extradited to Luxembourg following a European arrest warrant and was brought before investigating magistrates this week. The Luxembourgish authorities said they had benefited from close cooperation with their Portuguese counterparts throughout this case.
