Two muggings were reported in southern Luxembourg on Thursday afternoon and evening, with the suspects fleeing both scenes.
A woman was approached by a stranger in Esch on Thursday afternoon, who engaged her in conversation before grabbing her phone out of her hands and running away. The victim was not injured in the altercation, police said.
Later an attempted mugging occurred in Dudelange, when two women approached a man and asked him for money. The man accompanied the two women to a cash machine, where he tried to take money out, but another individual arrived on the scene and attempted to steal the man's bank card. The victim defended himself against the muggers and all three fled, leaving him without injury.
Police launched investigations into both incidents.
