The upper section of the Weiswampach swimming lake is now off-limits, as Luxembourg's water management authority has reported the discovery of blue algae in the area.

Different types of blue-green algae can be toxic and harmful to both humans and animals. Common side effects include headaches, skin irritations, and nausea. The water management authority specifically warns against letting pets come into contact with or drink the water. It's crucial to avoid touching the surface of Weiswampach Lake and refrain from fishing in affected areas.

If you spot blue-green algae anywhere, please report it using the Bloomin'Algae app. For now, swimming in the lower part of the lake is still permitted.
