A Luxembourg driver was caught speeding at 221 km/h on Saturday while returning from Italy. The incident occurred in the Grand Est region of France.

According to reports from DNA and Le Républicain Lorrain, the driver, travelling in an Audi A6, was stopped around 5pm on the A4 motorway near Burbach in the Bas-Rhin department, a few kilometres from Moselle. The driver was apprehended by the Phalsbourg Rapid Intervention Team, who were patrolling in an Alpine A110.

As a result of the excessive speeding, the Luxembourg motorist has been banned from driving in France for six months and fined €750. The driver's passenger transported them back to Luxembourg.
