On Tuesday at around 3.45pm, police were alerted to a motorist driving recklessly toward Capellen, between Goeblange and Goetzingen.

When a police patrol attempted to pull over the driver, the individual ignored the officers' orders and fled. During the pursuit, the driver performed dangerous overtaking manoeuvres and frequently exceeded the speed limit.

The situation escalated when the driver crashed into a police car that was blocking the road in an attempt to halt their escape. The collision resulted in minor injuries to a police officer, who was subsequently taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Despite the severe damage to their vehicle, the driver continued their attempt to flee but was stopped just a few meters down the road. The motorist, who refused to exit the car, was eventually immobilised by the police.

A breathalyser test revealed the driver was under the influence. Their driving licence was revoked, and they were fined for resisting arrest.
