The president of the FOKUS political party, Marc Ruppert, spoke with our colleagues from RTL Radio about recent developments within the party, which was established just a few years ago.

"We will continue our work with objectivity and necessary courage to offer a real alternative in the next elections," Ruppert declared.

He also announced that Frank Engel is no longer the party's spokesman, with the decision made internally to not renew the position. Ruppert explained that FOKUS aims to distance itself from being seen solely as "Frank Engel's party." However, he emphasised that the party will not exclude Engel entirely but will focus on promoting other, less well-known members.

FOKUS currently has 219 members, and Ruppert confirmed that the party's finances are "solid."

Addressing financial issues—a topic recently brought into the spotlight by a controversy involving the Pirate Party—Ruppert assured that FOKUS' finances are "closely monitored by a trust." He added, "That's perfectly normal when you're working with public money that comes from taxes."
