A man attempted a dangerous jump into a shallow area of the Upper-Sûre lake on Saturday evening.

As reported by the Grand-Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps' Fire and Rescue Centre Alebisch/Esch-sur-Sûre, at around 7.30pm, a man jumped from a boulder into the Upper-Sûre lake. However, the man landed in a shallow area of the lake and injured his leg, prompting a rescue operation by the rescue services. An ambulance from Wiltz transported the man to the Ettelbruck hospital.

First responders from CIS Alebisch/Esch-sur-Sûre treated the man's injuries before the ambulance arrived.

The rescue services remind the public that jumping from boulders into the Upper-Sûre lake can be very dangerous and is strongly discouraged.
