Minister for Home Affairs Léon Gloden announced plans to relocate the heliport at Ettelbruck hospital to a new site as part of a medium-term initiative, with the specific location yet to be revealed.

Over the past six years, the helicopter operating from the Centre Hospitalier du Nord (CHdN) in Ettelbruck has conducted approximately 3,100 missions.

Through a parliamentary question, MPs André Bauler and Gusty Graas of the Democratic Party (DP) also sought clarification on state funding for Air Rescue. Air Rescue invoices the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) monthly for flight minutes used in Emergency Medical Assistance Service (SAMU) missions, with costs reimbursed by the National Health Fund (CNS).

Additionally, Air Rescue is scheduled for a financial audit by the Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) following a proposal for an extra €1 million in funding. This new amount is in addition to the €3 million already provided by the state to Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR) for the replacement of two rescue helicopters.

Costs not covered through agreements with the CGDIS and the Ministry of Home Affairs are partially subsidised through social contributions.
