On Tuesday morning, police were deployed to Ceinture des Rosiers in Howald at the request of the French Tribunal judiciaire of Sarreguemines.

This was confirmed by the Sarreguemines prosecutor's office to RTL.

The investigating judge requested assistance from Luxembourg authorities for a European investigation concerning the illegal transport of narcotics.

The Luxembourg Public Prosecutor's Office also confirmed the police operation, emphasising that it was part of a European, not national, investigation.

Specifically, it was a "Décision d'enquête européenne," a decision validated by a legal authority from another EU member state. The goal was to gather evidence related to potential legal violations in another EU country.
