A spokesperson for the judiciary police confirmed an investigation was ongoing into the capital's central hospital regarding suspected embezzlement.
L'Essentiel reports that an employee of the CHL's human resources department has come under suspicion of embezzling money. The person in question was taken into custody briefly, released three weeks ago and is currently under judiciary checks.
Further details on the alleged fraud have not been released as the investigation is ongoing. The public prosecutor's office said the presumption of innocence still applies.
It is thought the embezzlement amounts to a sum of around 200,000 euros.
The CHL declined to comment when asked by L'Essentiel; however, the hospital confirmed the victims would be reimbursed.
An investigation is also currently underway following suspicions of forgery and fraud at the Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch (CHEM). Online news site Reporter.lu broke the story back in April.
