On Wednesday evening police received reports that a vehicle had collided with a post in Bous.

The driver is said to have failed to stop at the site of the crash on the CR149 and simply continued with his journey.

A police patrol later discovered the vehicle in question in Bous, with the driver asleep behind the wheel. It took officers several attempts to wake the man up again.

The driver was found to be heavily intoxicated and was subsequently taken to the police station. A provisional driving ban was issued after the man refused to cooperate with officers.
