The Grand-Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) reports on incidents that unfolded during the ING Night Marathon on Saturday.

Despite temperatures being warmer than usual, the marathon unfolded without any major incidents taking place, according to the CGDIS. 15767 runners and a huge crowd were gathered in the City to experience the thrills of the marathon together. A total of 114 people, runners and spectators, needed to be attended by rescue teams. 18 needed to be hospitalised.

Firefighters did not need to intervene on the marathon route itself. However, a car caught fire around 6pm in the Neudorf district, but it was quickly extinguished.

Rescue teams were stationed across the City on Saturday to respond to any incidents along the route. In total, around 200 volunteer and professional firefighters were present for the marathon in the City. This included 10 ambulances, 13 rescue teams, 4 motorcycle teams, and 4 bicycle teams. Additionally, two centres were set up to provide assistance to individuals in need.
