The majority of Cargolux’s exports last year came from China, as the report cited fast-fashion retailer Shein as one of the major contributors for its cheap clothing and accessories.
Although 2023 saw Cargolux employees go on strike over wages in September, ensuring a number of flights were cancelled over several days, the firm’s finance director Maxim Strauss said this had not had a major impact. The costs relating to the labour protests were difficult to calculate, as the cancelled flights were rescheduled once the strike concluded.
