Cargolux has posted its result for 2023, reporting its highest ever-profits, with the exception of the pandemic years.
On Wednesday, Cargolux unveiled its latest report to the media, showing that the cargo airline had above all experienced an increase in freight relating to e-commerce.
The majority of Cargolux's exports last year came from China, as the report cited fast-fashion retailer Shein as one of the major contributors for its cheap clothing and accessories.
Although 2023 saw Cargolux employees go on strike over wages in September, ensuring a number of flights were cancelled over several days, the firm's finance director Maxim Strauss said this had not had a major impact. The costs relating to the labour protests were difficult to calculate, as the cancelled flights were rescheduled once the strike concluded.
