Issues have arisen in the management of the state laboratory (LNS) in Dudelange, leading to the resignation of both the general manager and the president of the board of administration.
Michel Toungouz Nevessignsky stepped down from his role as general director just one month after his appointment, followed by Evelin Schröck, the president of the board of administration.
The state laboratory itself acknowledged the need for a new strategy and reorganisation, prompted by prolonged wait times for results of gene and cancer analyses, tests exclusively handled by the LNS.
Health minister Martine Deprez highlighted a disconnect between Evelin Schröck's strategic vision and the board's expectations. It also became apparent that Nevessignsky was unwilling to collaborate with the board on devising a new strategy for the lab.
Deprez refrained from divulging further details about the LNS's future strategy and reforms, citing the early planning stages.
These developments were disclosed by the minister to LSAP deputy Di Bartolomeo in response to a parliamentary question following the resignations at the LNS.
