The Grand Ducal couple and top financial and economic delegates have commenced their official state visit to Brussels, where they will participate in key diplomatic engagements and celebrate two royal birthdays.
The Grand Ducal couple, accompanied by a delegation of financial and economic representatives, are in Brussels for an official state visit until Thursday. The delegation will be officially received at the Place des Palais on Tuesday, followed by an engagement at the Grande Place.
Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel has travelled along to meet with his Belgian counterpart, Hadja Lahbib, on Tuesday. In the evening, a state banquet in which Prime Minister Luc Frieden will assist is to take place at the Palace of Laeken.
Coinciding with the trip are the 64th birthday of King Philippe of Belgium and the 69th birthday of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, which are on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
