As it happened - Roads closedYellow alert on Monday evening with 100km/h gusts
The national weather agency MeteoLux had issued a yellow alert until 9pm on Monday, with local gusts of up to 90 or 100km/h.
On Monday, the Ville de Luxembourg has advised the public to avoid parks and forests for the rest of the day.
The following roads were closed due to the weather:
- CR123 Cruchten - Colmar-Berg
- CR185 Schuttrange - Beyren
- CR121 Vugelsmillen
- N31 Bettembourg - Dudelange
- CR316 Kaundorf - Staumauer
- N12 Koplescht - Quatre-Vents (one lane blocked)
- N15 Heiderscheid
- CR315 Hareler Poteau - Bavigne
- N27 Arsdorf - Insenborn (one lane blocked)
- CR343 Drauffelt - Neidhausen
- N23 Kimm - Martelange
Tuesday should remain wet and windy but MeteoLux have not issued an alert as of yet, with gusts of up to 50km/h.
