Police reported to several incidents on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

Aggressive behaviour leads to drunk tanks

On Sunday afternoon, a man was behaving aggressively at a petrol station in Luxembourg-Pulvermuhl. A police patrol found him visibly drunk. As he was behaving in an uncooperative manner towards the officers, police took him in for a medical examination and placed him in a drunk tank.

That evening, a man and woman harassed other people in a bar on rue Genistre in Luxembourg City. According to initial information, the victim asked the two people for a cigarette, after which they became violent. After his arrest, the man behaved aggressively towards the officers. He too was placed in a drunk tank to sober up for the night.

Road accidents

On 1 April, around 1.20am, a police patrol in Rodange spotted two vehicles driving suspiciously at the intersection of rue de Longwy and rue Fontaine d'Olière. One of the vehicles was seriously damaged.

The vehicles were stopped shortly after on rue du Clopp. Both drivers showed obvious signs of alcohol consumption, and a breathalyser test came back positive. A temporary driving ban was issued against one of the drivers and a report was drawn up against the other.

Later that night, a vehicle was spotted turning from Avenue de la Liberté into Rue Glesener despite clear signs this was prohibited. The vehicle was stopped shortly after on rue d’Anvers. The driver's breath test came back positive and his driving license was confiscated.

Pictures of thieves

On Sunday morning around 5am, a person had her wallet stolen on rue du Fort Neipperg after being distracted by two attackers. When the victim noticed, she wanted to take photos of the attackers, whereupon they tried to snatch the mobile phone. A fight ensued, and the victim was slightly injured. The attackers then fled with the victim's wallet.

An investigation has been launched.
