Both the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) and the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) are satisfied with the results of the elections, as nearly 70% of the 4,100 companies where elections were held have reported their outcome.

This includes approximately 2,800 firms that submitted their results to the Inspectorate of Labour and Mines (Inspection du Travail et des Mines) on Wednesday evening.

When considering the entire country, the free lists, meaning those not affiliated with any unions, emerge as the predominant victors, with approximately 4,600 effectively elected delegates, constituting 56% of the votes.

OGBL secures 26% of the mandates, totaling approximately 4,000 overall.

LCGB achieves around 2,200 mandates, of which 1,200 delegates were effectively elected, representing a rate of 14.3%.

ALEBA (Luxembourg Association of Bank and Insurance Employees) will have 350 effectively elected delegates in the future, which accounts for 4% of the mandates.

OGBL has a very positive outlook on the result

On Wednesday evening, OGBL declared itself as the primary victor of the social elections in a short statement. It hinted that, in numerous companies, it would have been possible of attaining an absolute majority and indicated that further comments would be issued once the results are fully disclosed.
