Minister for Home Affairs Léon Gloden introduced the testing phase of the forthcoming lu-alert.lu platform on Tuesday. In order to ensure user-friendliness, the authorities seek feedback from Luxembourg residents to assess the website’s ease of navigation.
Minister Gloden stressed the significance of public alerts, describing them as indispensable tools for residents to prepare for unforeseen events that pose potential threats. He highlighted their role in enabling individuals to take necessary precautions to safeguard themselves and their property.
The Minister expressed confidence that the implementation of the LU-Alert system will enhance public awareness of risks and contribute to a more resilient society.
The website will provide comprehensive information on the LU-Alert system, including its alert channels, levels, and categories. Additionally, users will be able to access guidance on appropriate behaviour during events requiring heightened vigilance.
Residents can participate in the trial via the link https://etat.emfro.lu/s3/LU-Alert until 26 March 2024. Participation is anonymous and will take around ten minutes. The test site is available in English, German, and French.
Minister Gloden stressed that the future LU-Alert system will not collect, record, store, modify, access, or use personal data at any point.
