After undergoing extensive renovation for nearly three years, the Saint-Esprit car park in Luxembourg City is now once again fully accessible to the public 24 hours a day.
Initially closed for refurbishment, it was announced in September 2023 that management had been secured through the company "Indigo Park S.A." During this period, the car park, located near Cité judiciaire, was partially operational but reserved exclusively for civil servants and government employees. It became partially accessible to other motorists starting from 30 October.
Initially, the car park operated for four evenings during the week, as well as on weekends and public holidays. This partial opening continued until the completion of renovation work on the car park under Place Clairefontaine. Subsequently, government employees regained access to the facility, leading to the full reopening of the car park under Plateau du Saint-Esprit to the public.
The extensive renovation project amounted to nearly €7 million. The car park, inaugurated in 1985, offers almost 600 parking spaces. The Luxembourg City Council website states that the car park has reopened to the public. However, only 200 parking spaces are listed as available.
