Amid strategic reevaluations, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has announced the resignations of board chair Prof Evelin Schröck and director Dr Michel Toungouz Nevessignsky, with the latter having been at the helm for only a month.

According to a statement (FR) from the National Health Laboratory, the institution's board of directors recently convened to review the progress and efforts made across various ongoing projects, including processing times in genetics and anatomopathology, as well as the accreditation in various departments.

In a surprise announcement, the statement notes that both the chair of the board and the LNS director came to the conclusion that it was time to part ways to achieve desired results: "In view of the impending challenges, which will require a new strategic plan to be put in place, the Chair of the Board of Directors, Prof Evelin Schröck, and the current Director of the LNS, Dr Michel Toungouz Nevessignsky, have announced their respective resignations."

Dr Nevessignsky will thus leave the leadership position after only one month in office.

Pending the appointment of a new director, the day-to-day operations of the LNS will be led by deputy directors Thomas Dentzer and Safaâ Moujahid, under the responsibility of Dr Jean-Claude Schmit, deputy chairman of the directors' board.
