The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) was kept busy with a series of incidents in recent hours, including another accident in Obercorn and two fires.

Around 1am on Friday morning, a serious traffic accident occurred on the A6 motorway. For reasons as yet undetermined, a car crashed into a sign truck parked on the carriageway.

According to reports from the emergency services, two individuals sustained injuries in the accident. However, it was not clarified whether the victims were occupants of the car or the lorry.

Response units from the Emergency Medical Assistance Service (SAMU), as well as emergency teams from Mamer, Luxembourg City, Steinfort, and Kahler, were despatched to the scene to provide assistance.

Earlier in the evening, at approximately 7.20pm, another incident occurred in Obercorn along Route de Belvaux, resulting in two individuals sustaining injuries. This incident involved a collision between two cars, prompting a response from local emergency services.

In a separate development, reports of smoke emanating from a restaurant in Esch-sur-Alzette surfaced around 3am. Only material damage was reported in this incident. Similarly, the Luxembourg City fire brigade addressed a situation in Bonnevoie, where a fire had ignited in a pile of rubbish.
