The State earned 24 million euros in tax revenue from slot machines, card games, and roulette at Mondorf Casino in 2023.

In 2021 and 2022, the average was 21 million euros, respectively.

The numbers were published in a recent parliamentary question by Dudelange LSAP-duo Mars Di Bartolomeo and Dan Biancalana.

As it stands, the Mondorf Casino is the only establishment in Luxembourg where gambling games are offered. There are no other requests to open a casino at the moment.

There is no list of bistros and other places where there are gambling machines that offer no monetary prizes.

Explicitly excluded from the 1977 Gaming Act is the National Lottery, which is governed by other legal texts.

Ministers are currently working on reforming this text from the 70s, which is outdated, to ensure that the fight against new illegal gambling is strengthened, the parliamentary response states.
