The passenger of a car that was pulled over for speeding attempted to flee, and police quickly realised why.

A vehicle was pulled over by police for speeding down Boulevard Kennedy in Esch at around 2.30am on Monday morning.

When the car came to a standstill, the passenger suddenly exited the car and made a run for it.

Officers were quick to react and caught him. According to the police report, police found cannabis and cocaine on his person.

Meanwhile, the driver had an active driving ban, the technical control papers of the vehicle had expired and the car was showing technical defects.

Both the car and drugs were confiscated on orders of the magistrate's office.

In another incident, on Sunday evening at 7pm, police presented a driver with a driving ban for drink driving.
