
In a joint statement, the three major trade unions expressed their dissatisfaction with being sidelined from the housing crisis deliberations, which they claim are taking place “behind closed doors” at Senningen Castle. According to the unions, the roundtable discussions only included representatives from the construction industry and trades, with notable absences of trade union voices.
While the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL), the Luxembourg Employers’ Association (UEL), and the Association of Luxembourg Cities and Municipalities (Syvicol) were present, along with nearly half of the government, the absence of working people’s representatives was conspicuous to the trade unions, which regret that “like-minded people are amongst themselves” at Senningen Castle.
