Starting from Monday, 26 February, the ongoing tram extension project to Findel Airport will progress into a new phase, involving the redevelopment of the Senningerberg interchange situated along the A1 motorway.

As part of this phase, modifications will be made to the slip road leading from Luxembourg City to Trier at the Senningerberg interchange. These adjustments aim to create additional space necessary for the expansion of the worksite near the interchange.

One notable change involves the relocation of the temporary traffic-light junction, which was initially introduced in early 2023. The junction will be shifted approximately 150 metres towards the direction of the airport. While this will affect motorists using the A1 motorway as well as the N1, all connections at the junction will remain accessible.

This adjustment in traffic flow is a key component of phase 3 of the tram extension project and will remain in effect until the start of the collective holiday period, i.e., until the end of July.
