A Luxair flight bound from Bucharest to Findel was forced to turn back shortly after take-off on Thursday evening due to a technical issue with the aircraft.

Passengers had to spend another night in the Romanian capital after the Boeing 737-700 was deemed to have technical problems shortly after taking off from Bucharest airport on Thursday.

Luxair confirmed the pilot had decided to turn back immediately after take-off as a "precautionary measure". Around 100 passengers were offered overnight accommodation in a hotel and returned to Luxembourg on Friday.
