Following the mid-December announcement of Princess Alexandra's pregnancy, the new year starts with another joyful event within the Grand Ducal family as one of her brothers welcomes his third child.
Little Prince Balthasar Felix Karl was born on 7 January at the Grand Duchess Charlotte Maternity Hospital, weighing 3,220 grammes and measuring 50 cm in height. Both mother and child are reported to be in excellent health.
In July 2023, it was announced on social media that Prince Félix and his wife Claire were expecting their third child. The official court announcement followed shortly thereafter, although the specific date remained undisclosed.
The couple's firstborn, Princess Amalia Gabriela Maria Teresa, was born on 15 June 2014 at the Grand Duchess Charlotte Maternity Hospital. Their second child, Prince Liam Henri Hartmut von Nassau, was born in Geneva on 28 November 2016.
