In a significant move to address housing needs, the Chamber of Deputies has given its approval for two major affordable housing projects that are poised to make a substantial impact on the housing landscape.

The first project is planned in Olm, within the municipality of Kehlen, where 800 flats are earmarked to accommodate over 2,000 residents. The second Special Development Plan (PAP) outlines the construction of 154 residential units, representing a substantial investment exceeding €83 million.

In parallel, the second approved project is planned in Bonnevoie, Luxembourg City, aiming to provide 786 flats to house 2,000 inhabitants over the next decade. This endeavour comes with an estimated cost of €193 million. The National Society for Affordable Housing (SNHBM) has been designated as the public property developer for both projects, overseeing their implementation.
