In a recent question-and-answer session at the Chamber of Deputies, Democratic Party (DP) MP Corinne Cahen addressed concerns about security in the Gare neighbourhood.

"People in the Gare neighbourhood of Luxembourg City feel abandoned," said Cahen. She raised questions about the security measures with Minister of Internal Security Léon Gloden, highlighting his prior advocacy for increased police presence as an MP. She sought clarification on whether these calls for reinforcement would now be implemented.

Minister Gloden of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) stated that he intends to increase police presence in the Gare neighbourhood. However, he refrained from providing further details during the session. A meeting with the municipality of Luxembourg City and the police is scheduled for Thursday.

There were 137 registered incidents of thefts and burglaries between September and December in the Gare district. While noting that every case is one too many, Gloden indicated that the situation is even worse in other neighbourhoods in Luxembourg City, with the Gare district ranking fifth in reported incidents. These statistics do not include drug-related crimes.
