According to Liechtenstein police, a Luxembourg resident sustained serious injuries following a pedestrian collision prior to an international football match on Sunday evening.
Online reports say around 50-60 football fans were walking along a country road near the Liechtenstein capital of Vaduz shortly before 6pm on Sunday night when the incident took place. One of the walkers at the back of the group was hit by a passing car and dragged along on the hood of the vehicle for a distance of around 70 metres.
According to police, the victim has been confirmed as a Luxembourg resident. The driver of the car failed to stop at the site of the collision, instead carrying on their journey towards Vaduz.
Liechtenstein national police have issued an appeal for witnesses. Anyone with information regarding the accident should contact 00423 236 71 11 or info@landespolizei.li.
Update:In an earlier report, it was mentioned that the Luxembourgish resident was seriously injured. In the meantime, fans of the Red Lions from the M-Block on Facebook have informed that the individual has emerged with bruises and is back home.
