According to traffic surveillance, the crash occurred at the Lankelz junction, close to the Esch/Lallange exit. Four people sustained injuries as a result.
Initial reports said two lanes were closed as a result of the incident, causing traffic to build up in the direction of Luxembourg City.
As of 7.30am, there were at least 4 kilometre-long traffic jams on the A13 between Sanem and Esch-sur-Alzette, while the B40, linking the A4 and Micheville with Belval, was also experiencing heavy traffic.
