During her leisure time, Delcourt finds solace in nature, whether it’s walking her dog or cycling through the great outdoors. Environmental issues resonate deeply with her, as does her commitment to social justice. It was these shared values that led her to join the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP) back in 2016, starting at the local level in Hesperange.
In June 2023, Delcourt was elected to Contern’s municipal council. However, she was unable assume the position because it turned out, after the fact, that her specific work within the police would not be compatible with this particular political office.
While this year’s legislative elections were not her first, Delcourt achieved a breakthrough, securing a seat in the Chamber of Deputies, outperforming more established figures from her party in the constituency centre.
Embracing her role as an MP, Delcourt eagerly anticipates the new challenges ahead. Even before her official swearing-in ceremony, she was chosen to become a member of the Parliamentary Committee for the Review of Public Authority and had the privilege of presenting a report during a plenary session.
As a newcomer in the Chamber of Deputies, Delcourt aims to both learn from seasoned colleagues and actively engage in parliamentary proceedings. Her priorities encompass a diverse range of crucial issues, including the environment, biodiversity, climate, family, youth, and housing.
